John Fraser

John Fraser is Senior Vice President, Internal Audit and Chief Risk Officer of Hydro One Networks Inc., one of North America's largest electricity transmission and distribution companies. He is a Fellow of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants with over 30 years experience in the risk and control field, specializing in the financial services sector.

Prior to Hydro One, Mr. Fraser was Senior Vice President, Quality Assurance, at Newcourt Credit Group Inc. Previously, he held senior executive audit positions at a number of major companies, including: Scott's Hospitality Inc, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Wood Gundy Inc., and Coopers and Lybrand, Chartered Accountants.

John Fraser is currently the Chair of the Conference Board of Canada's Strategic Risk Council and a recognized authority and frequent speaker on enterprise risk management. He was co-author of CICA's publications: "20 Questions Directors should ask about Risk" and "20 Questions Directors should ask about Internal Audit," and co-edited the 2010 university text-book "Enterprise Risk Management: Insights and Analysis on Today's Leading Research and Best Practices." He is on the faculty of The Directors College where he teaches enterprise risk management and is currently developing and teaching the Masters Certificate in Risk Management and Business Performance program at Schulich School of Business.

Mr. Fraser is a past member of the Risk Management and Governance Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
