What is the difference between a nomination and a submission?
Anyone can make a nomination for the Private Business Growth Award and we encourage everyone in the business community to do so—it is a way to let us know that a good growth story is out there. Once a company has been nominated, we will contact them directly to encourage them to complete a submission form. A submission is the official application for the award, providing the jury with more detailed company information. The submission form must be completed and submitted by the company applying for the award. Only companies that have completed a submission form will be considered for the award.
Can I nominate my own business for the award?
Absolutely! We encourage you to.
What are the evaluation criteria?
Businesses will be evaluated based on strategic, sustainable growth in the following areas:
  • innovation
  • market development
  • people and culture
  • strategic leadership
  • improvements in financial measures
A company does not have to satisfy each of the selection criteria to be considered, however companies that satisfy more selection criteria may receive a higher overall score from the jury. The jury is looking for success beyond just good business management—your submission should articulate your company's history of strategic and sustained growth.
Do I have to include financial information?
Yes, the jury must be able to evaluate growth based on financial measures too. However, we can assure you that the information is kept in the strictest of confidence and is only available to the jury and award administrators, who have all signed non-disclosure agreements. You can read more about privacy on our website.
